Mr. Kevin Ritcherson
KEVIN A. RITCHERSON holds a BBA Management with Emphasis in Entrepreneurial Studies -Texas State University San Marcos, TX May 2011 ; Blackshear Bridge-Board Member Non-profit 2012- Current; Omega Psi Phi Inc. Fraternity Member Spring 2011-Present; YMCA East Communities-Board Member 2017 – Current; YMCA North – Board Member 2021-Current
He is a native Austinite attended LBJ HS Science Academy Class of 1997.
He played college football at Ranger College & Sam Houston State. He would graduate and pledge Omega Psi Phi Inc. at Texas State University in 2011.
Upon graduating; he joined the graduate chapter in Austin and served on the Scholarship committee from 2011-2018.
Mr. Ritcherson has mentored and coached children in the Austin area from 2005-2010 at Dove Springs Recreation Center; Dittmar Recreation Center; Greater East Austin Youth Association, & Delwood Optimist Club. His great Uncle is know as the “founding father of HTU” Dr. Rev. Karl Downs. Austin’s only HBCU, the library on campus is named after him and Downs Field HTU’s home baseball field.

Brother Dave Johnson was born in Skokie, Il., where he began his musical aspirations at the early age of 5. Yet, it wasn't until the mid 90's that Dave found popularity as a member of the Firestone High School Band in Akron, OH. As a result, Dave was the 1995 winner of the prestigious Louie Armstrong Jazz Musicianship Award, and was awarded a scholarship to Berkley College of Music in Boston, MA.
Dave instead accepted a scholarship to join Hampton University’s marching band, "The Marching Force". Dave graduated from Hampton University with Departmental Honors, in May 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing.
As an Austin resident since 2006, Dave has played in multiple showcases at SXSW & ACL Music Festivals. Dave has won eight Austin Music Awards, including; "BEST DRUMMER" in 2015, and 3-Time "Band Of The Year" & "Best Hip Hop Band" in 2014-2016 with "Riders Against The Storm". He has founded and produced the bands "Ugly Elephant", "MoJo Chyld", “The Gabor Nicholson Band” and "Stephanie Grissett". Dave is also a prominent Private Drum Instructor and owner of “Atomic Drummer Studios” located in the Round Rock, TX.
Dave is a dedicated angler, and founded “Uncle Dave’s Fishing Charter’s”, which specializes in teaching the next generation, how to fish. Dave is a Texas Park and Wildlife, double “Elite Angler” (Saltwater & Freshwater), and a proud owner of two waterbody records. Dave is also the owner and operator of “DJ Custom Woodcrafts”, a custom live edge woodcrafts, furniture and art business.

Carldale Johnson was born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana. In 1994, he graduated from Ouachita Parish High School.
To fulfill his college dream, in 2004, he enrolled in Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, TX and was a 3-year graduate earning a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice.
Throughout his journey, he took evening and night courses for a Master’s program. In 2010, his determination and perseverance paid off as he earned a Masters in Education, with a focus in Elementary Education and a Principal Certification from Texas State University.
In 2010, Carldale was hired as a 3rd grade self-contained teacher at Texas Empowerment Academy in Austin, TX. With his great results, he was provided an opportunity to teach 6th and 8th grade Science in Manor Independent School District in Manor, TX. While in MISD, Carldale achieved a successful track record as a middle school science teacher, he was promoted to Assistant Principal where he served the students and community for two years prior to joining IDEA Public Schools in 2017.
Carldale is a passionate, enthusiastic educator who believes that all students can learn with support, encouragement, and love. As a product of Louisiana Public Schools, Carldale understands the difficulties and struggles students encounter on a daily basis and strives to be a positive proof point for students to let them know they can accomplish anything they put their hearts and minds to.
Volunteer Efforts:
Relay For Life - American Heart Association
Various Omega Psi Phi Fraternity volunteer initiatives such as: youth mentoring, "King's Closet" an initiative to provide gentle used suit to college students
Supporting high school seniors complete FAFSA and college applications.
Promote awareness for Cardiovascular Disease, Lupus, Chronic Kidney Disease and Prostate Cancer.
